Discarded Horses(Animals)

I just wanted to write something that I have noticed lately since having started my new job. It concerns animals that are bought, but noit loved and not used. I guess I am kind of a big softy when it comes to most animals. I love dogs, cats, horses, and just about anythig furry and cute. The woman I work for runs a barn where she boards horses. I have noticed that some people just sort of pay her to keep their horses, but they never or seldom ever come and ride them. She does not have time to deal with each horse individually, so it is left to the owner to come and show it extra attention and to use it. Some people never do. I spent a few hours today working with one horse that is never ridden and the woman who owns him owes 4 months board which she has yet to pay. So the horse may not be there for long. I felt so bad for the thing. It could be a good horse if someone would take the time to work with it. Just in that short time, I managed to get in the saddle, so who knows what could happen if someone could spend an hr. every day. Why do people buy animals which they can not take care of. I wish every pet animal could be show atleast some form of affection. Also I recently dtrove by a worn out trailer with soimeone. Outside were to gorgeous dogs, but they were worn down. I was informed, that the woman who lives there leaves them tied up outside all the time in all weather, many people complained, but because of the lax animal abuse laws, nothing can be done. I thought my heart was goign to break. You can not help but wonder if she feeds them regularly. Wake up people, all I ask is if oyu are ogign to have a pet take care of it, and if oyu can't, find someone who can. They are not meant to be lawn ornaments.
